TheKNOWLEDGEPolitic is establishing as a not-for-profit organisation in Victoria, Australia, with a core mission to rethink and reconstruct the systems that shape work. It operates as a think-and-do tank: part research and advocacy organisation, part experimental hub for ethical practice in real-world contexts.
The organisation is grounded in a radical commitment to justice, equity, and the collective flourishing of people and planet. Its mandate extends beyond theory—it is actively building alternative structures to demonstrate what ethical work can look like when designed around care, reciprocity, and dignity.
Its governance model integrates traditional legal compliance with values-based accountability mechanisms. The organisation is led by a diverse Board of Directors with expertise in community advocacy, ethics, law, social work, and lived experience. Staff are eligible for board membership, and a rotating leadership council shares operational responsibility. A community advisory group, composed of individuals directly impacted by structural disadvantage, helps ensure fidelity to values and responsiveness to real-world needs.
TheKNOWLEDGEPolitic's first major project is the development of LoveKartel—an enterprise designed to embody and test its values through practical employment initiatives. However, its longer-term role is broader: facilitating research, evaluation, policy engagement, and education to scale inclusive employment systems and challenge dominant paradigms across multiple sectors.
In later phases of development, TheKNOWLEDGEPolitic will also serve as the knowledge base and education provider for the growing LoveKartel model, supporting a transition into semi-skilled, skilled, and eventually professional domains of work. This evolution will include the establishment of an educational institution to equip future leaders and practitioners in values-driven employment systems.
